Please read the information below
the available dog pictures before contacting us about an available Papillon. Contact information and an inquiry form are
located at the bottom of this page.
If you think a Papillon would be the perfect
addition to your family, please visit the Papillon Club of America website. The link is at the bottom of this page.
Please read the page titled "Is a Papillon Right for You?" Papillons are delightful little dogs, but
they are not right for everyone or every family. When we place a puppy we want the new family to be delighted with their
choice of a Papillon. Even more important to us is that the puppy be delighted with his new family.
If you purchase a puppy from us, it will be the beginning of a relationship between you, the new owner, and us, the breeders.
We will want to remain informed about the development of the puppy. We love to receive pictures and updates. We
are ALWAYS available for questions or concerns.
We are show breeders and breed only one or two litters per year.
Our pet puppies will be sold on a spay/neuter contract if they have not been spayed/neutered before leaving our home.
All puppies are vaccinated before leaving our home. They come with a health guarantee. We will only sell to individuals
that we are sure can provide a proper home for our puppies. References may be required.
We prefer not to ship puppies, but we will work with potential owners to arrange delivery of a puppy. For example,
if we are attending a show in your area, we may be able to deliver a puppy directly to your home. We seldom attend shows outside of the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
The price of our puppies will vary depending
on the quality of the puppy. Many potential Papillon owners will buy from a backyard breeder for a much lower price.
A year later they wonder why their much loved pet does not look like a Papillon or is the size of a Cocker Spaniel.
Backyard breeders breed for profit rather than to improve the breed. Show breeders breed to improve the breed in conformation,
temperament and health. Please be a responsible pet owner and purchase from a reputable and responsible show breeder.
Please do not purchase a puppy from a pet store. Most pet stores buy their puppies from puppy mills. Puppy mills
breed dogs strictly for profit without regard for the physical or emotional wellbeing of the dog. As long as well meaning
pet buyers purchase from pet stores, puppy mills will remain in business. To learn more about puppy mills and what you
can do to end the suffering of innocent dogs, go to www.prisonersofgreed.org. "We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals." Immanual

So how do you differentiate between a backyard
breeder and a show breeder? Many breeders advertise themselves as show breeders. How many champions do they have
in their kennel? One champion does not a show breeder make. How many champions have they bred? Are they
active in conformation showing with the American Kennel Club? Are they members of the Papillon Club of America?
Their local kennel club? Do they sell their puppies with a health guarantee that includes genetic defects? Will
they sell you the same puppy for two different prices? A puppy should not be sold as full registration or limited registration,
depending on how much you are willing to pay. A responsible breeder will always sell pets on limited registration or
on a spay/neuter contract.
This is an excellent article about how to find a reputable breeder.
Finding A Reputable Breeder
Many potential Papillon buyers are concerned about
purchasing an older dog. Many feel they must purchase a puppy so the puppy will bond with their new family. Papillons
are very adaptable dogs. Even older dogs quickly adjust to a new family and claim the family as their own. An
older dog is usually house trained. An older dog is not teething and this spares many shoes and other household items.
What you see is what you get with an older dog. Many promising puppies fail to mature as expected. A beautiful
older dog will remain a beautiful dog.
A final word of caution about "teacup"
Papillons, or any other toy breed. There is no such thing as a teacup variety of any toy breed. The AKC does not
recognize "teacup." A "teacup" breeder should be a red flag to any potential pet buyer. Breeders
advertising their dogs as teacup should be considered unethical breeders. They are not breeding to the standard recognized
by the American Kennel Club. They are breeding down the size to increase their profits. Many well meaning pet
buyers want very small dogs and will pay increased costs to get them. Breeding down the size breeds in many health problems
for the dog. It is the dog who suffers. The owners will also suffer due to increased veterinary expenses and the
possible premature loss of their precious pet. Be an informed and responsible pet owner and only purchase puppies/dogs
which conform to the breed standard of the American Kennel Club. The standard for any breed of dog may be viewed at
the breed pages of the American Kennel Club website. The address is www.akc.org. You may view the official standard
for the Papillon on the "About Papillons" page of our website.
